This mineral stone contains radium 226, a radioactive element.
(Bad Gastein mineral stone is similar to Hokutolite.)

It is believed to have a hormesis effect.
By receiving a small amount of weak radiation, cells are stimulated, activating the body's cells, expanding capillaries, improving metabolism, and enhancing immunity and natural healing power.

This mineral stone cannot be mined in Japan. However, Japan has Hokutolite from Tamagawa Onsen in Akita Prefecture, which is also a radium 226 mineral stone.
It was designated a natural monument in 1922.
Currently, worldwide, Bad Gastein mineral stone is available as bracelets containing natural radium 226.
