This is a bonito shaving product called Shiroki-zukuri manufactured and sold by Sakai Sangyo in Niigata. The main body is made of Japanese cypress (lacquer finish), the plane rest is made of natural wood (Japanese white oak or beech), and the blade is made of carbon steel.

I obtained it but am not using it, so I am listing it for sale. There are scratches on the main body, so it shows signs of use.
The blade can be removed by tapping the plane rest, so it seems possible to sharpen the blade.
