Purchased over 10 years ago and used a few times for peeling apples, then stored in an indoor closet.

The material is likely chrome-plated cast iron, but there are some areas with rust due to age.

No rust is visible on the blade.

Seems to be specifically for pears and apples with a diameter of approximately 60-110mm.
Tested by peeling an apple, and it peeled cleanly.
