Description
Currently, this is the lotus variety with the deepest red flowers, known for its hardiness and excellent blooming.
The key to getting Moohong (モーホン) to bloom abundantly is to grow it in a slightly larger pot. Fill the pot with mud to about 1/3 of its capacity.
Also, plant only one tuber per pot; do not plant multiple tubers together.
Once the leaves are strong and stand above the water surface, you can promote blooming by applying a small amount of fertilizer (containing NPK and potassium).
Furthermore, by fertilizing after each bloom fades, you can encourage the formation of new buds.
Knead the mud as finely as possible. This will help the lotus grow faster.
It will bloom approximately 4 weeks after planting.
