This is a traditional Nanki Shirahama craft noren (curtain). It depicts a banner with the words Shirahama Engetsu Daiko (Shirahama Full Moon Drum), inspired by drum performances around Engetsu Island in Shirahama Town, Wakayama Prefecture. The design is primarily monochrome, with effective use of red accents. It features a powerful, Japanese-style illustration reminiscent of Edo-period Nishiki-e prints.
This noren depicts a traditional Engetsu Daiko performance.
