Authentic Mini Tatami Mat - Premium Kumamoto Tatami Surface, Pure Cotton Border

Thank you for viewing.

This is a genuine mini tatami mat, combining a high-grade Kumamoto tatami surface with pure cotton edging.
We believe you will appreciate the quality of real tatami! (^^)

This pure cotton edging has been carefully stored since my grandfather's time. The box states Supreme National Treasure, and when combined with the domestic high-grade tatami surface, it creates a perfectly beautiful mini tatami.

Size: 30.5 x 26 cm

We have also paid attention to the back, finishing it with a sturdy lining for a clean appearance.

Please relax and enjoy the scent of rush grass and the feel of tatami! (^^)
In an era where Japanese-style rooms are becoming less common, experiencing the scent of real, new tatami may be a rare treat.

As this is a natural product, there may be color variations, and the scent and color will fade over time.
New tatami (rush grass) has fine powder particles.
This powder is called somedō (dyeing soil). To give rush grass its unique color, scent, and luster, natural clay (somedō) is used to coat the surface of the harvested rush grass through a mud-dyeing process.
If this is a concern, please wipe it with a tightly wrung-out cloth, following the grain of the tatami. Then, dry it in the shade.

This was meticulously crafted with care by my husband, who holds the highest-level 1st-class tatami craftsman qualification and a license as a vocational training instructor for tatami.

Please understand that there may be slight size variations as this is a handmade item.
