Tosa Ryu "Ryoma's Washboard" Sakura Wood Washboard S

A traditional washboard made with cherry wood from Kochi Prefecture. This is a convenient, smaller size.

This is the Ryoma's Washboard, inspired by Sakamoto Ryoma's famous quote, I shall wash Japan anew.
Its shape differs from Tosa Ryu's standard Sakura Washboard. The Sakamoto family crest, Kumiai Sumi ni Kikyō (interlocking squares with bellflowers), is branded on the back.
I believe this was a limited edition item sold at the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum and in America.

I received several of these as souvenirs quite some time ago, and this one has been stored in a dark place, still sealed in its film. The cellophane tape holding the paper on the back appears slightly discolored. Although it is unopened and unused, it is being offered to those who understand that it is a home-stored item.
