This is a charcoal developed by Izumo Carbon Co., Ltd. in Shimane Prefecture, specializing in humidity control and deodorization. It was created for moisture and odor control in homes, and its characteristic is that it is baked at a higher temperature than general charcoal, enhancing its ability to absorb and release moisture.
It works to bring indoor humidity close to a comfortable zone of approximately 40-60% by absorbing moisture when humidity is high and releasing it when it is dry.
It is also used for odor and mold control in closets, shoe boxes, etc., by suppressing odor-causing components and moisture that causes mold.
Can be used semi-permanently
Since it is charcoal without any chemicals, the contents do not easily deteriorate, and it is generally considered to be usable semi-permanently without replacement. Its performance can be maintained by occasionally air-drying it in the shade or sun.
