Otagaki Ware, Akihisa Sakamoto, Tobikanna, Umbrella Stand, 1950s, Vintage, Made by 80-year-old
This is a rare Otagaki ware umbrella stand made by the artist Meizan Sakamoto in the 1950s.
This beautiful umbrella stand features the tobikanna (flying plane) pattern from the Otagaki folk craft era, set against the deep, rich texture of Otagaki ware that has aged over the years.
This piece was created when Mr. Meizan Sakamoto was eighty years old and bears his signature.
The interior shows some signs of use, but it is in good condition with no chips or cracks.
We recommend this item to those who love old Otagaki ware or the Sakamoto kiln.
