Made with SUS440C carbon stainless steel, renowned worldwide as a top-grade material for its high hardness.
While most hair cutting scissors are made from standard stainless steel, which lacks hardness, they are combined with steel.
The term stainless is a combination of stain (rust) and less (without), leading many to mistakenly believe it's rust-proof. However, rust can still occur if left wet or handled improperly.
Rust-proof steel does not exist. However, 440C is a material that can maintain its sharpness by increasing its hardness. The combination of carbon and chromium (Cr), a rust-resistant element, makes 440C excellent in terms of rust resistance and sustained sharpness.
Proper maintenance, such as wiping with a cloth after use, is assumed.
