Description
Fortune Descends from the Mountains
Shimekazari: Expanding Prosperity and Growth
Opened once, but unused.
This shimekazari (New Year's wreath) is made from 100% Yamagata prefecture-grown rice straw and rice stalks, from the brand Fortune Descends from the Mountains designed by Yoshino Toshimitsu Design Office.
It is crafted by Kobo Straw, a farmer and artist based in Mamurogawa Town, Yamagata Prefecture.
The rice is hand-planted and hand-harvested using organic, pesticide-free cultivation for straw crafts and edible purposes, then naturally dried.
All parts are connected using only rice stalks, without any foreign materials like wire or string, making it truly a shimekazari that returns to nature.
Suehiro Shutsuga Hanei (末広出芽繁栄) signifies the wish for happiness to form a circle and expand, and for that happiness to sprout and grow abundantly.
