? Immaculate Conception ? (St. Mary)
The image of the Immaculate Conception of Mary aligns with the description in the Book of Revelation 12:1:
And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
The crescent moon under the Virgin Mary's feet represents purity.
According to the Old Testament, Eve and Adam were tempted by the evil serpent, disobeyed God, ate the forbidden fruit, and were expelled from the Garden of Eden.
This is the first sin committed by humanity, the original sin, and in Christianity, it is said that all humans, as descendants, are born with this sin.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is called the Immaculate Saint Mary because she was protected from the stain of sin from the moment she was conceived in the womb of her mother, Anne (i.e., immaculate conception).
The feast day of the Immaculate Conception is December 8th.
