Memorial tablets are Buddhist implements used to enshrine and honor the spirits of the deceased. They are considered important for ancestor veneration.
The posthumous Buddhist name (kaimyo) is inscribed on the front of the memorial tablet.
Even without a kaimyo, you can create a memorial tablet using the deceased's secular name by adding 之霊位 (no reii) after it. Adding 之霊位 (no reii) after the secular name is considered to have the same meaning as receiving a kaimyo.

If you wish for handwritten inscriptions for the kaimyo, etc., we will provide free handwritten service. Please refer to the last image for examples.
After purchase, please provide the kaimyo you wish to have handwritten, the posthumous Buddhist title (e.g., Koji for men, Daishi for women), the date of death, the secular name (full name), and the age at death. We will then provide free handwritten service. Of course, you are also welcome to purchase the memorial tablet alone.

The date of death, secular name (full name), and age at death will also be handwritten free of charge.

In the Kanto region, the kaimyo and date of death are inscribed on the front of the memorial tablet, and the secular name and age at death are inscribed on the back.

In the Tokai and western Japan regions, only the kaimyo is inscribed on the front of the memorial tablet, and the secular name and age at death are inscribed on the back.

There are regional differences. If you already have an ancestral memorial tablet, the layout will be made to match it.
