Sinar Jinah Large Format Camera, Shino Go 4x5 Phase One Flex
This is a sinar large format camera.
Includes:
- Sinar camera body
- Phase One Flex adapter
- Extension rail (difficult to find and likely unavailable elsewhere)
- Sinar film holder
- All items are sold as a set.
Addendum: As a bonus, I will also include a HCL loupe and a PEAK 4x loupe.
The adapter alone typically sells for around ¥50,000 to ¥100,000 used, so consider the sinar body almost a free bonus at this price. If you don't need the adapter, you could sell it and essentially get the sinar for free.
The bellows appear to be made of a durable material, not paper, and I don't see any holes upon visual inspection. However, I cannot confirm this without a lens, so to prevent any issues, I am listing it as junk and recommend replacement if you are concerned.
The whitish appearance of the bellows in the second photo is due to light reflection.
The extension rail and other components are also hard to come by, so this set is a great value.
The Phase One adapter currently attached is for Hasselblad V mount. While it works with Phase One, I have not confirmed if it is compatible with Hasselblad digital backs like the CFV, as a film back is attached.
There is one minor issue: a small piece is chipped off the front locking mechanism. It should not move during normal shooting, but if this is a concern, you can use anti-slip tape, replace the front part, or secure it with rubber.
This is a durable Swiss camera that will last for a long time. The sinar is arguably the most used large format camera by professionals for commercial work. While it can be compared to the Deardorff, the sinar is far superior in precision and robustness.
The sinar film system is not only compatible with sinar film but also with the increasingly affordable Phase One medium format digital backs, making it the ultimate system. Phase One cameras, in particular, offer a level of expressiveness that even the latest mirrorless cameras cannot match.
