This is a face guard specifically designed for the Riddell SpeedFlex helmet.
It uses high-strength stainless steel for the core, making it lightweight yet highly durable.
The EG in the product name stands for EyeGuard,
SW (Single Wire D).
The vertical bars on the sides of the eye area protect your eyes from opponents' arms and hands. Compared to the SF-2BD in the same series, this model has one less horizontal bar, providing a wider field of vision.
