Description

This is a Quena crafted by the renowned Adrian Villanueva workshop, a master of this traditional Andean instrument.

Adrian Villanueva was a globally recognized performer who previously played as a Quena musician for the highly popular Andean music ensembles Rumillajta and K'allawaya. He also performed in Japan with K'allawaya, making him a familiar figure to Japanese folklore music fans.

Afterward, he established his own workshop to produce Quenas and Charangos, creating high-quality instruments with a design informed by his experience as a performer. His Quenas, in particular, are acclaimed for their stable intonation and rich resonance. His workshop was also known for producing Mauro Núñez-style Villaseca-type wooden peg Charangos.
Tragically, Adrian Villanueva passed away suddenly in 2020 due to COVID-19. Instruments from his workshop are no longer being produced and have become rare.

This instrument is recommended for lovers of Andean music and those who wish to cherish it as a collector's item.
