Leather Skiving Machine S2 (Glove Lace, Glove String, Leather Craft)

Compact handheld leather skiving machine made with 3D printer output.
For skiving lace, straps, belts, etc.
Also ideal for skiving grab lace.

The replacement blade is compatible with both 9mm width cutter blades (2-piece, 40mm) and general double-edge razor blades (37mm).

◆Double-edge razor blades / Feather Hi-Stainless Double Edge, etc. (Even 100-yen shop DORCO 10-piece packs can skive sufficiently)

Due to its flip-type design, the angle of the blade against the leather decreases as the desired leather thickness (gap between blade tip and roller) increases.
Therefore, the limit is around 5mm thickness, and skiving thicker leather beyond that becomes difficult.
When gap is 0mm: approx. 30 degrees
When gap is 5mm: approx. 20 degrees

If the skiving thickness adjustment screws differ between the left and right sides, it can cause distortion. Therefore, for stable skiving, adjustments must be made to match both sides.
Basically not compatible with uneven skiving in the horizontal direction, such as diagonal skiving, partial skiving, or step skiving.

-Tips-
When starting to skive, if the skived part of the leather catches on the end of the upper mounting bracket, pull back slightly to get it over the mounting bracket.
For uniform skiving, do not apply excessive force that would distort the blade tip; let the sharpness of the blade do the work.
The skiving thickness adjustment screw is M3 (pitch 0.5mm), with a guideline of 0.5mm per rotation. The blade tip will increase or decrease by slightly less than double that.

※ As this is a handmade item produced by a home 3D printer, there may be scratches, dirt, or distortions. Also, the layer lines from the molding process are noticeable throughout.
