Rare Antique Ethnic Musical Instrument, Cassisi Beer Can Shaker, African Handmade

Caxixi Shaker Percussion

This is a very rare, remade ethnic musical instrument purchased at an antique shop about 25 years ago.
It is made using an empty beer can as the core material, carefully woven with natural plant-based fibers around it. The handle is made of wood and features carved decorations for a comfortable grip.
It appears to contain seeds, small stones, or similar items inside, producing a simple, pleasant, dry, and relatively loud shaka-shaka sound when shaken.
The handle is angled for an easy grip.
The beer label peeks through the weave, though not fully legible, the design is very stylish and it would also make a wonderful interior decoration or objet d'art.

Size:
Length: Approx. 26cm
Diameter: Approx. 7cm

As this is an antique item, there are some changes in texture due to age, slight looseness in the weave, and minor dents in the can. We hope you will enjoy these as part of its character.
