Traditional method of stretching the skin using麻布 (asa-fu - hemp cloth) and wedges, rather than the currently mainstream method of stretching with a jack.
(This process is labor-intensive, which is why the price is inevitably high.)

The skin is not stretched too tightly, so it may not be suitable for those who play classical music.
It is ideal for folk songs.

The price of a sanshin is determined by the materials used, who made it, and of course, its tone.

For a Kamigen neck, the average price is around ¥200,000 to ¥300,000
(Okinawan prices). For works by master craftsmen, the price can be ¥400,000 to ¥500,000.

Regarding price reduction: If the neck looks good but doesn't sound good, I would immediately reduce the price. However, I am confident in the sound, so I am not considering any price reductions.

Sanshin Peace of Mind Service
I have received inquiries from people who do not have a sanshin shop near their home and are having trouble with maintenance, repairs, etc.
Therefore, I will assist with maintenance and repairs in cooperation with Okinawan sanshin studios and local sanshin shops. This service is limited to items I have handled, of course.
The method is to send the item directly to the studio for repair, and then receive it back cash on delivery. The cost will be paid directly to the studio. I have several reliable studios in Okinawa, so please contact me if you need assistance.
