The first comprehensive and permanent collection of its kind in Japan, featuring the history, sheet music, and audio recordings of Yose Bayashi.
This monumental publication, compiled by Master Somemaru Hayashi, who has dedicated himself to fostering the training of囃子 (bayashi) performers as a rakugo artist, aims to pass down the entirety of Yose Bayashi—essential to Kamigata Rakugo—including its history, sheet music, and audio recordings, to future generations.
This is the first book in Japan to include sheet music.
It comprehensively covers all conceivable classical pieces, such as Debayashi and Hamemono, in three volumes: an explanatory volume detailing the history of Yose Bayashi from its origins to the present day, a sheet music volume (shamisen notation), and an audio volume (4 CDs).
The sheet music and audio recordings include over 200 songs in total. Features numerous valuable illustrations.
The outer cover has some minor scratches and small stains.
