Nittaku 3-Star Premium Old 40 Balls, 3 Unused
10.00 $
Description
A set of 3 Nittaku 3-Star Premium balls, the standard for World Championships. These are the older 40mm, celluloid type.
40 celluloid balls, no longer permitted in official matches since 2014.
Compared to the current 40+ plastic balls, these celluloid balls have:
- A higher coefficient of friction
- A higher specific gravity
- Are thinner
- Have an average diameter 0.2-0.3mm smaller
- Are more flexible, resulting in better ball grip and spin, yet a more linear trajectory.
And they were more expensive! ^_^
We think it's quite enjoyable to experience the history of table tennis balls now.
These are new and unused, but please check the photos for a small mark added to make spin more apparent.
If you wish, we can combine these with 6 new 1-Star balls for a total of ¥1100. Please let us know.
Thank you for looking.
