Yamada-style Koto Music Shamisen, Red Sandalwood, with Case and Paulownia Box Accessory Case
Purchased 25 years ago for professional use.
It was made of natural material with a bachi (plectrum) and cost around 500,000 yen.
The bachi is used for Nagauta (a type of traditional Japanese music).
The main shamisen body has not been used for over 10 years, but it is in beautiful condition as shown in the photos.
It is made of red sandalwood (Kōki). The skin is likely dog skin, but as it is many years old, it may tear if played.
The tuning pegs are made of natural material and have never been shaved or modified.
The exterior of the case has small peeling in a few places, but it is sturdy and comes with a key.
The included paulownia wood box was used to store the koma (bridge) and other small items.
The approximate size is 10 x 9 x 3 cm.
The price is negotiable.
Thank you for your consideration.
