Features and Types
Uses: In addition to being used in festivals and traditional performances, it has long been cherished as a celebration of a child's birth, given as a gift with wishes for the child to grow strong, and also as a toy drum for children.
Materials: Many of these drums have striking surfaces made of genuine leather, which develop a unique character with use.
This drum has been around since my father's childhood, who was likely born in 1936.
It makes a pleasant pon pon sound when struck.
