Terra-berry DAC2+
Price has been changed.
This is a high-end DAC for Raspberry Pi that uses the high-performance DAC AK4490 compatible with both PCM and DSD.
It can also be connected via Combo384, allowing you to create a USB-DAC.
It also supports balanced output, which I found very useful.
I am selling it due to a change in my system environment.
It was originally sold for 29,150 yen, but it is now discontinued and rarely appears on the market, making it difficult to obtain.
Details are as follows:
- Raspberry Pi HAT compatible form factor, connects to Raspberry Pi via I2S
- No drivers required as the internal microcontroller controls the DAC/SRC
- Uses AKM AK4137 SRC, resamples at the DAC's master clock, and supports DoP decoding via I2S
- Employs AKM AK4490, supporting PCM up to 768KHz/32bit and DSD up to 11.2MHz
- Operation of DAC attenuator, sound mode, etc. is possible via Raspberry Pi GPIO serial port
- Since the DAC playback data is converted to a 32-bit format by the SRC, the DAC attenuator can play back at bit-perfect down to -48dB for PCM 24bit
- Built-in master clock with excellent phase noise characteristics using a small crystal oscillator (45.1584MHz for 44.1KHz, 49.152MHz for 48KHz)
- Master clock is automatically switched (microcontroller measures the LRCK period to switch between oscillators for 41.1KHz and 48KHz systems)
- Op-amp is driven by a high-precision ±5V power supply (Terra-BerryDAC2/Terra-BerryDAC2+)
- Op-amp is driven by a high-precision ±4V power supply (Terra-BerryDAC)
- Dedicated LDOs for DAC analog power and reference power are installed (Terra-BerryDAC2/Terra-BerryDAC2+)
- Low-noise resistors and capacitors with good DC bias characteristics are used around the op-amp
- Balanced/unbalanced outputs available
- Dedicated 5V power input terminal for DAC (power can also be supplied from Raspberry Pi)
5V: Isolated, GND: Isolated (Terra-BerryDAC2/Terra-BerryDAC2+)
5V: Isolated, GND: Common (Terra-BerryDAC)
- Combo384 connection possible
