The battery is dead and needs to be replaced before use. It will function correctly once the battery is replaced.
The current strap is nearing the end of its life and may break soon, so it is recommended to use the included replacement strap.

The scratches visible on the display in the photos are on the LCD protective cover. The display itself should be in good condition once the cover is removed.
