Excellent Condition SONY Closed-Back Headphones for DJ Monitoring MDR-Z700DJ

Discontinued SONY Closed-Back Headphones for DJ Monitoring MDR-Z700DJ

The SONY MDR-Z700DJ is a pair of closed-back headphones. With high input resistance suitable for professional use, they faithfully reproduce the original sound and flexibly respond to movement during play. These are DJ monitoring headphones that meet the high standards of professional DJs.

Key features include their DJ-oriented design, allowing the housing to be flipped for single-ear monitoring and folded compactly for convenient portability.

Their most striking feature is their excellent design. Even 13 years after their release, they still look cool. At the time of purchase, I was instantly captivated by their design, as much as by their sound quality, and made the decision to buy them on the spot.

The cable is a single-sided, coiled cord. Its thickness suggests it's unlikely to break. The hinges are said to be fragile and prone to cracking, but mine have been fine so far, likely because I haven't folded them for transport. The headband is fabric-covered, indicating a high-quality and meticulous construction.

The high frequencies are clear and pleasant, without being harsh or piercing. They aren't lacking in high-frequency response, but rather have a slightly softened edge. Depending on the source, they can sometimes be overshadowed, tending to be buried by the low frequencies. As expected from headphones developed for DJs, they handle loud volumes without any distortion, which is impressive.

Despite being labeled as monitor headphones, the vocals are slightly distant. However, the bass and treble are easily discernible, making them a monitor sound in that regard.

They have been stored in excellent condition.
