This is an elliptical (E) cartridge for the OM NIGHTCLUB record needle, ideal for 4/4 beat dance music. Compared to the spherical (round) needle in the same series, it digs deeper into the record's groove, resulting in a more brilliant sound.

Generally, spherical (S) needles are said to prioritize stability and be less prone to skipping, while elliptical (E) needles prioritize sound quality.
