The wooden frame is coated with urethane varnish to prevent deterioration from water.
To make winding the string easier, a rotating stainless steel rod (pull-out type) or a round part has been attached to the top edge of the frame.
When winding the string, hold this rod or round part by hand and rotate the frame to wind the string smoothly and easily.

I used this by inserting a PVC pipe into the sandy shore, inserting the handle of the rotating frame, and letting the crab net drift out to sea on the rip current.

I used it to catch flat-handed crabs.
I am listing it because I no longer have the opportunity to go.
