Live shipping + shipping included. Murex bait. Small size. 1.5kg.

Thank you for viewing.

This listing is for purple mussels for fishing bait.

*Please note that we do not ship to Okinawa, Kyushu, or some remote islands. Please refrain from ordering.*

These are purple mussels. They are in the same mussel family as the common mussel and are similar in appearance, with slight color variations as shown in the image. The fishing results are said to be the same as with common mussels. As these are easier to obtain at this time of year, we are listing them as purple mussels.

The size ranges from less than 0.5 cm to 3 cm, with no specific sorting, and the package contains 1.5 kg. Since we do not sort them meticulously, there may be some mussels larger or smaller than 0.5-3 cm. We will do our best to remove dirt, broken shells (including those already open and dead), barnacles, and seaweed, but some may still be present. If there is any excess, we will pack more than 1.5 kg.

② As shown in the photo, some mussels are clumped together with byssal threads, while others are individual. They are not sorted.

③ We also accept date specifications. As these are live mussels, we keep them in a special net in the sea after collection. Therefore, we may ask you to change the delivery date if there are continuous high waves or typhoons. Shipping to Okinawa and some remote islands is not possible.

④ These are for fishing bait and not for human consumption, so they will be shipped in a styrofoam box with an ice pack via standard shipping.
We have shipped over 800 orders of mussels without any reports of spoilage, so please rest assured.

If you have any other requests, such as different quantities or larger sizes, please ask. We are unable to reply to comments after the auction has ended, so please ask again when we relist the item.
