Description
Vintage Janice Ho (JH) Signed Mixed Metal Geometric Brooch Era: Circa 1990s Origin: San Francisco Bay Area Studio Art Hallmarks: Stamped/Etched JH on reverse This striking, collectible piece of Art to Wear is a signed creation by renowned San Francisco studio jeweler Janice Ho, active during the height of the 1980s and 1990s West Coast modernist movement. It perfectly bridges the gap between raw Brutalist texture and structured Architectural design. The brooch features two heavily oxidized, deeply firescaled, and abstractly scored copper plates. Floating across the front are three rigid, polished brass horizontal bars secured with signature artisan wire-wrapping. A thick layer of industrial black fiber backing creates a high-contrast negative space in the center gap, adding incredible structural depth to the silhouette. Excellent vintage condition with no structural damage. It retains its magnificent, original deep-red and dark-charcoal copper fire patina. The original pin mechanism on the back is fully functional and secure. Note: The piece has been left unpolished to preserve its intentional, artist-applied patina and collector value. Approximate Measurements: Width 2 5/5 inch (67cm) Height 1.5 inch (4cm)
