Drop-in Gaff

Thank you for viewing.
This is a handmade drop-shot eging gaff.
I made it myself for spring squid fishing from high breakwaters.

Weight: 620g

Gaff weight: 150g (Drops smoothly when the drag is loosened)

Rod length: 45cm, extends to 1m

Drop-shot length: 10m

* Can be inserted into an eging bag's pen holder (depending on the type of eging bag).

The retrieval reel is a fly fishing reel.
The drag is adjusted with the knob on the right.

The rope used is from a GM stringer (1.5mm).

I have successfully gaffed squid many times during spring fishing. With a rod length of 1m, it's easy to gaff from high places, even when fishing alone.
I was able to reel in a 1.8kg squid with ease.
In the dark, you can wrap luminous tape around the gaff's swivel for better visibility.
The gaff itself weighs 150g, so it's less affected by wind and can be guided straight to the squid.
Once you've hooked the squid, you can lift it by hooking your finger through the gaff's ring, keeping your hands clean.

Please note that this is a used, handmade item. Those who are sensitive to such things should refrain from purchasing.
