Celadon Ceramic Noodle Bowls with Chopstick Rest - Soft Green Set

Set of 5 green celadon bowls with molded chopstick-rest cutouts, elephant relief design, made by Baan Celadon (Chiang Mai, Thailand). Possibly around 1999. The elephant relief design plus the integrated chopstick-rest cutouts make it a more distinctive, harder-to-find form than a plain rice bowl. No chips, clean glaze, visible stamps. Baan Celadon is a renowned ceramics factory and showroom in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It specializes in crafting authentic, lead-free Thai celadon—a jade-green, crackled-glaze pottery dating back 700 years—using locally sourced clays, rice paddy ash, and traditional hand-molding techniques The crazing/craquelure in the glaze is normal for celadon and is part of the appeal. 16cm (6.25in) wide, 8.5cm (3in) high. They hold about 23oz. Empty, each bowl weighs about 18oz (they are handmade pieces, the weight varies slightly).
