Description
This is a stunning Royal Sealy China teacup and saucer duo made in Japan. This exquisite mid-century set features a dramatic glossy black exterior accented by rich, heavy gold trim, opening up to a mesmerizing, iridescent pearl lusterware finish on the inside of the cup. The interior of the cup and the center of the saucer are hand-painted with vibrant pink floral blossoms and delicate blue/green accents. The cup sits elegantly on three ornate, gold-trimmed feet and features a beautiful scrolled loop handle. The saucer features a heavily gilded rim with a clean white underside showcasing the authentic vintage Royal Sealy China Japan backstamp. Approximate measurements: saucer diameter of 5-5/8 and teacup stands 2-3/8 tall with a diameter of 3-7/8. Excellent vintage condition! No chips, cracks, or crazing. Gold accents are beautifully intact with very minimal vintage wear.
