Description
This sweet wooden jewelry box has a trick up its sleeve. The front looks like three tidy drawers with wood knobs, but the whole top lifts open in one piece to reveal a hinged lid, a lift out tray, and a working wind up music box tucked in the bottom compartment. Marked Japan on the base, with the faux drawer front and gold stencil detailing popular in the 1960s and 70s. Measures 8.5 x 5.5 x 4.5 inches. Good vintage condition. Light surface wear consistent with age, a few small nicks at the edges, and gentle fading to the gold stencil on top. Red fabric lining inside is clean with light wear. The music box mechanism works, just twist the knob on the underside to wind it. Perfect for a jewelry catchall, vanity display, or a gift for someone who loves vintage charm with a surprise built in.
