Vintage Pink Black Beaded Evening Purse Jeweled Clasp Satin Lined

Beautiful vintage beaded evening purse from my grandmother’s collection, dating to the early-to-mid 20th century.  Lustrous black satin exterior is elaborately embellished with tiny pink and dark metallic seed beads in an intricate scrolling floral design, with beading continuing around the edges.  The standout feature is an ornate gold-tone shield-shaped clasp set with clear rhinestones in several shapes and sizes. Finished with a delicate metal chain handle and structured gold-tone frame.  The exceptionally well-preserved interior is lined in lustrous champagne-gold satin, believed to be silk. Beautifully constructed gathered pockets include fitted divided compartments and what appears to be a small lipstick/cosmetic holder.  An unusual circular gold-tone fitting bears an unidentified engraved script monogram or maker’s device; see close-up photo. No maker’s label found.  Approx. 9” W x 5.5” H.  Condition: Exceptional vintage condition. Beadwork appears remarkably intact overall and the satin interior is extraordinarily clean. Hardware shows light age-appropriate patina/surface wear.
