■About this Meteorite
The Muonionalusta meteorite is known as one of the oldest iron meteorites discovered on Earth. It fell in northern Sweden approximately 1 million years ago and was discovered in 1906.

Its greatest appeal is the Widmanstätten structure that appears after polishing and etching. This is a crystalline pattern formed by the extremely slow cooling of an iron-nickel alloy (kamacite and taenite) at a rate of a few degrees Celsius per million years in outer space. It is truly a work of art created by the universe, impossible to replicate with terrestrial technology.
