Description
Antique 1905 The Boy Who Would Be King: The Story of Absalom from Altemus' Children of the Bible Series, written by J. H. Willard and published by Henry Altemus Company, Philadelphia. This illustrated hardcover children's Bible story book includes both color and black-and-white illustrations and was part of a popular early 1900s religious educational series for young readers. A nice collectible piece of antique juvenile religious literature. Condition: Preowned antique condition with noticeable age and wear. The front cover has significant edge wear and a section of the decorative paper missing near the lower spine area. Corners and edges show wear and fraying. Boards have discoloration and staining from age. The inside front and rear endpapers have dark marker/ink markings as shown in the photos. Pages are toned with age and may show light spotting and normal antique handling wear, but the text and illustrations remain intact and readable. Please review all photos carefully for overall condition. From a smoke free home!
