Description
Antique Edwardian brooch, American, circa 1900–1915, crafted in solid sterling silver and centered with a luminous oval opaline glass cabochon. The navette-shaped frame features openwork filigree with geometric terminals at either end, reflecting late Victorian to early Edwardian design. The reverse is fitted with a straight pin and traditional C-clasp closure and is marked STERLING on the edge. Opaline glass, often referred to historically as “moonstone glass,” was favored during the period for its soft, glowing appearance. Approximately 1-1/4 long by almost 3/4 high. Very good antique condition. Light surface wear consistent with age. Opaline glass intact with no cracks or chips. Clasp secure and functional. A refined and wearable example of early 20th-century American silver jewelry.
