N/A 1930s 40s Vintage Cotton Child’s Dress Cutter Fabric Novelty Floral Print

Charming vintage handmade child’s dress offered primarily as a cutter piece for the wonderful old cotton fabric. Likely dating to the late 1930s–1940s. The lightweight cotton has a delightful small-scale geometric novelty print in teal green, red and blue on a warm cream ground, alternating stylized floral motifs within rounded medallions. A great authentic period textile for quilting, doll clothing, historical sewing, patchwork, textile art, repairs or other small sewing projects. The dress itself is simply constructed with a gathered/pleated skirt, short sleeves and vintage cream crochet lace at the neckline and sleeve edges. The lace is quite fragile and deteriorated in places, particularly around the neck and sleeves, as shown. Garment shows age and wear and is being sold for its fabric rather than for wear. There is a surprisingly useful amount of uninterrupted printed cotton in the full skirt, plus additional fabric in the bodice and sleeves. I would leave the garment intact rather than cutting it apart—the buyer can decide how best to harvest the material.
