⭕️ Tsugaru-kei Ontou Kokeshi (Premium Quality) Rare and Unique Item
◉ Master Craftsman Yoshiki Sato
He learned kokeshi making from his father, Master Craftsman Zenji Sato, who was a disciple of Master Mitsutaro Mori, the founder of Ontou kokeshi. He is a master craftsman representing the mainstream of Ontou kokeshi.

◉ Although I usually visit the workshop, I happened to meet this artwork at the Aomori Prefectural Tourist Product Center ASPAM in 1995.
This is a 30-year-old piece. Over the years, wax has seeped into the mountain cherry wood, giving it a faint reddish sheen all over.
It has been stored in a dark room, so there is no yellowing or green fading, making it a special item with added value.
It is still wrapped in the original cellophane, and the pink color of the blush is beautiful. The yellow of the lacquer lines, the yellow applied to the center of the 13mm wide body, and the green of the lacquer lines at the hem are unchanged from when it was made.
Furthermore, instead of the usual red petals and green leaves of the peony, it has been specially finished in a single ink color for a calm appearance.
Despite its age, this piece is in exceptionally good condition.
Moreover, its plump figure is charming, and the overall balance of the artwork is excellent.

Playfully, ants and snails are depicted on the peony leaves.
