Vintage Persian Watermelon Spoon

Traditional Persian hand-forged copper watermelon scraper (locally known in Iran as a hendevaneh-tarash or قاشق هندوانه تراش).  It features a heavy, hand-hammered copper construction with a distinct serrated or scalloped rim around the edge of the bowl.Function: The rigid serrated teeth are specifically designed to easily slice through and scrape out the flesh of large watermelons or melons, maximizing the amount of fruit harvested from the rind.
