This is a very rare tea scoop made from old bamboo from the Horeki era (1751-1764).
Inscribed: Hanagoromo (Flower Robe), made by Soharu, with a letter from Monk Myokian Shien.
It appears to be in beautiful, unused condition.
The texture of the bamboo, having aged for approximately 270 years,
embodies the beauty of nature and the poetry of time. Simply holding it
conveys the atmosphere of the era and the elegance of tea.
The inscription Hanagoromo evokes a poetic name, suggesting gentleness,
radiance, and ephemerality, much like a soft robe worn with the arrival of spring.
This scoop is perfect for adding seasonal sentiment to a tea ceremony.
