Tsubo-Tsubo Natsume refers to a tea caddy (Natsume) decorated with a special pattern called Tsubo-Tsubo (similar to a family crest). It is characterized by a design resembling two overlapping circles. This design is particularly favored by the Urasenke school (as favored by Hounsai) and other prominent tea ceremony schools. It is said to have been inspired by a pot-shaped earthenware vessel by Genpaku Sōtan and is used as a container for thin matcha tea for everyday use.
