Tea ceremony box, tea ceremony set with a fan (2 types) as a bonus.
The tea bowl has the mark Shozan on the bottom. Made by Shozan Kato (Kato Shozan), a Kyoto ware potter.
The labels in the image indicate that the Japanese paper labels attached at the time of purchase and storage are made of high-quality silk brocade, and the covers for the tea bowl, natsume (tea caddy), and chasen (tea whisk) are comfortable to use. I loved the stylish pattern and colors!
It is said to be a high-quality silk fabric woven by Tatsumura Textile, a long-established textile manufacturer in Kyoto, after researching and restoring ancient brocades from places like Horyu-ji Temple and Shosoin.
According to my research, considering the set as a whole, which includes a tea bowl by Shozan and a shifuku (pouch) made of Shokko Nishiki brocade by Tatsumura, the value of this practical tea ceremony set is around 30,000 to 80,000 yen.
