Description
Hoshisato Ware

Founded by Sosuke Fujisaki, who was commissioned by Mōri Motozumi, the 8th lord of the Chōshū domain. In the Meiji era, the third generation, Hoshisato Fujisaki, developed a highly durable crystalline glaze, gaining national recognition.

(From the permanent exhibition catalog of the Shimonoseki City Museum of History)

Located in Ogetsu, Shimonoseki City, this kiln is now defunct.
It is said that Hoshisato was named after the origin of the name Ogetsu, meaning village of small moons (stars). Some pieces feature star or ☆ marks, adding a stylish touch.

These items were stored at my parents' home.
