Karasu Tengu and O-Tengu are both classified as Tengu in Japanese folklore and mountain worship, but they differ in their roles and appearances. When combined, they can represent a more powerful system of Tengu belief, or the power of warding off evil and bringing good fortune.
Meaning
By combining the flying mobility of the Karasu Tengu with the high divine power of the O-Tengu, they become powerful beings that, as messengers of gods and Buddhas, instantly remove calamities for their devotees.
In summary, they can be said to be a powerful pair within the larger framework of Tengu, with distinct roles.
