Wooden Kagura Mask, Oni Mask, Iwato Kagura God Mask, Ama-no-Iwato Wood Carving
By Kudo Hiroaki, Ama-no-Iwato Wood Carving Kagura Mask
This is a rare item, as works by Kudo Hiroaki are limited in number and rarely appear on the market.
This is a mask of Tejikara-o-no-Mikoto, the god of strength used in the Ama-no-Iwato legend. Kudo Hiroaki, who creates Kagura masks, is a craftsman of Kagura masks used in Takachiho's Yoru Kagura and is certified as a Traditional Craftsman.
The technique is extremely difficult, requiring two years for wood drying, the use of over 20 chisels, and millimeter-level adjustments, making it truly a masterpiece.
It has been stored by an amateur, so there is some deterioration due to age, but the condition is relatively good. The outer box has scratches and dirt.
