The structure without a zipper at the top allows for quick opening and closing and smooth retrieval even when wearing a plate carrier.

The flap at the bottom of the pouch can store up to 5 items such as tourniquets, pens, and chemical lights. When not in use, they can be secured to the back of the pouch with Velcro, so they won't get in the way.
