Sugawara Hōbō Noh Mask (Kagura Mask) Warai-jō (Wooden)

A powerful-looking wooden Noh mask with a beard, perfect for stage arts.

This is an Akujo (evil old man) mask created by Norifusa Sugawara, known as a contemporary Noh mask craftsman. It is one of several pieces that I purchased or received as gifts through my late father, who was acquainted with Norifusa. My father, a carpenter, even crafted and provided display frames for Norifusa's exhibitions.
There are some minor stains and paint peeling on the tip of the nose. While the condition is not perfect, there are no other noticeable scratches besides those mentioned. Please check the images for details.
The craftsman's seal (ura-in) of Norifusa Sugawara is carved on the back.
