Vintage Brass Hand Shaped Spring Clips Pair Ruffled Cuff Design

This is a pair of vintage brass hand shaped clips. Each piece is cast in the form of a hand emerging from a ruffled cuff, with detailed floral and geometric embossing along the cuff edge. On the back of each hand is a spring loaded clamp mechanism with a wide opening and coil spring tension. The exact original intended use is not confirmed, it may have served as a decorative clip for fabric, papers, or another household item. One clamp has a tighter spring tension than the other. Please review all photos closely, including the clamp mechanisms, as they are part of the description. Please note there is some discoloration due to time, but that has been photographed. I am unable to find a pair similar so these are very unique.
